SEXUALITY & LGBTQ+
As an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist, I understand that in addition to experiencing many of the same mental health and life issues associated with heterosexuals, LGBTQ+ individuals also experience issues that are uniquely associated to them. Issues such as homophobia, discrimination, social stigma, sexual orientation and gender identity are all additional stressors that contribute to the higher risk of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse for members of the LGBT community.
As a therapist with experience treating these issues I believe that gay and straight people are equal; there’s nothing wrong with being gay or lesbian and that homosexuality is not a choice. I’m not here to judge you or try to change your sexual preference.
I am here to offer you hope and a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can open up and discuss whatever is on your mind. Together we’ll develop a solution-focus treatment plan that addresses your concerns and works towards your goals.
If you are experiencing any of the above issues and are in need of therapist, please contact me. I’d love to hear what’s on your mind.
